Ohio Trust Secures $60 Million Mega Millions Jackpot

(AsiaGameHub) – The recent $60 million Mega Millions jackpot has been claimed. The winner is not a person but a trust established in Ohio.
Ohio Trust Comes Forward to Take the Prize Home
During March, the Mega Millions game produced two major jackpots in quick succession. The first, worth approximately $536 million, was claimed soon after the draw. The second prize, however, went unclaimed for more than a month.
The winning $60 million ticket was purchased in Van Wert, leading to much speculation about who held it. The prize was actually won by the Happy Trails Trust.
According to an official statement from the Ohio Lottery, Shaun A. Putman, acting as the trust’s representative, has now claimed the winnings. Opting for the lump-sum payment, a common choice for large jackpot winners, the Happy Trails Trust received $30 million before taxes. The final, after-tax amount comes to $21,975,000.
Rather than selecting their own numbers, the winners used a quick-pick option. Their luck held, defying odds of 1 in 290.5 million to match the numbers 4, 11, 18, 38, 50, and the gold Mega Ball 24.
The Game Experiences a Temporary Lull
Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot has reset and now stands at $150 million, with a cash value of $67.3 million. The next drawing is scheduled for Friday at 11 p.m. ET.
Tuesday night’s drawing did not produce a jackpot winner. Furthermore, no ticket matched all five white numbers to win the second-tier prize, which is valued between $2 million and $10 million based on the multiplier.
