As for the second group of near-winners, there were six players in total, five of whom walked away with $50,000 apiece. The sixth player will receive $250,000 instead, as they had opted into the Power Play feature, which multiplied their prize by the attractive 5x multiplier for this draw.

Since the jackpot went unclaimed in this draw, it has now rolled over to a value of $87 million, with a one-time lump-sum payout option of $39.7 million. The upcoming draw is scheduled to be held later today.

For context, the last Powerball jackpot was claimed by a ticket holder in Delaware, who matched all six numbers in the April 6 draw to win a $231 million prize. Following that win, the prize pool was reset, and has been growing steadily ever since.

This has been confirmed by Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery, which noted that the UK Powerball launch will be delivered through its partnership with the Multi-State Lottery Association.
